I can't believe we are getting ready to start another school year. Kate will return to Brenau for the 3rd fall; EJ is starting his senior year and my baby, Chloe, will be a junior! Where does the time go?
Band camp starts Monday and I'm guessing the weather will go from rather nice to unbearable. That has been the pattern for the last two summers. Those band kids are amazing. I think they spend more time out in the heat than the football players do!
Kate has enjoyed her nanny position this summer. EJ has found some part-time yard work to help fund his social activities. Chloe would desperately like a part-time job but will not turn 16 until after school starts. Apparently, 16 is the magic number and by then she will be marching. So I guess she will need to wait until after marching season.
The kids haven't traveled quite as much this summer as previous years but they have managed trips to Myrtle Beach, Alaska (EJ), Destin, FL and TN (again, EJ). I was hoping to make a couple possible college visits but that has not worked out. Now with band, school and soccer gearing up, it will be a real challenge to work those trips into our schedules.
